I chose wall paper for today’s blog topic because it became a real fashion hit for home furnishings lately.

Many of our customers ask to show them wall papers that have some interesting patterns or made from specific material.

The variety of the wall paper is huge – we have paper, vinyl, paper, cork, natural woven just to name a few.

Today I am creating this online collection of the some of the best wallpaper that we have.

The earliest wallpapers used in Europe as early as the XIII century. They were painted with religious themes and icons. Peopled called it “domino papers” since the images were pasted within homes of the devout. It took few more centuries until the wall papers were hand block-printed. By that time they only remained popular with the poor.

In the XVI century more expensive wallcovering with images of tapestries become popular in homes of nobility and the middle class. Small sheets often carried a repeating pattern. More sophisticated wall coverings had several blocks that together produced a pattern spread across many sheets. Fashionable XVIII century Americans who traveled to France and England started bringing home wall coverings. So called “paper stainers” were producing wallpapers in America by the early IXX century.

Enjoy the colors, styles and patterns, and if you get inspired enough – come over to our online store to choose among these and many more wonderful wallpaper we have.
